The Advanced Samskrit Comprehensive Test is a tool that assesses the comprehension of Samskrit as a medium of Shaastric knowledge, such as the Grantha-kovida (Textual Immersion) Course at MIT SVS. For those who aspire to deep dive into shaastric learning, the understanding of the Shaastric terminology and Shaastric structures is imperative to comprehend and interpret the complex discussions in the Shaastric texts, including the commentaries. Both fluency in language and basic proficiency or acquaintance with Shaastras is tested herein. Candidates with background, including Gurukula learning, from any of the Vedic / Indic Shaastras are eligible to take this test.
The course involves the candidate to attempt an essay based 100-marks manually assessed quiz with questions in Samskrit, to be answered in Samskrit medium (except the translation question). The quiz is self paced and can be attempted any time after enrollment for a period of 100 days. But, once the quiz is attempted, the candidate gets 4.5 hours to complete the test. Answers may be keyed in directly or written out on paper, which may be saved as images and uploaded in to the quiz respectively for each question. *The pass mark for this quiz is set at 60*.
The assessed result will be communicated to the candidate through the registered email id used for enrolling into the Advanced Samskrit Comprehensive Test course within 10 working days of attempting the test.
Our best wishes for success in the test to the candidates attempting it!!
